What museum organisers and theatre professionals can learn from each other – an interdisciplinary dialogue at the newly created Immersive Showroom
Be it world-famous art treasures such as the bust of Queen Nefertiti at the New Museum, or street art at the Urban Nation Museum for Urban Contemporary Art – with over 175 museums, Berlin is one of the most important places for cultural attractions worldwide. The Museum Island alone, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site and Europe’s largest museum complex, attracts over 3.5 million visitors annually. ”Culture is a major economic factor in Berlin. With Stage|Set|Scenery, we aim to give the city’s huge cultural sector a platform for an interdisciplinary dialogue, opportunities for training and an inspirational event“, said Dr. Christian Göke, CEO of Messe Berlin.

That is why we have put together an outstanding programme for museum and event organisers and at the Immersive Showroom are providing an interdisciplinary overview of the latest technologies.“
Immersive Showroom with new technologies for museums and cultural institutions
On 20 June, day three of the show, the Immersive Showroom will focus on the possibilities and challenges of innovative Experience Technology in museums and exhibitions. Events will include impulse lectures by international experts, who will be examining the following topics: ‘How can VR and AR successfully deliver content?’, ’What new technologies and formats can museums employ to make content and exhibits more accessible to visitors, including the disabled?’ and ’How can AI help museums target audiences even better with their presentations?’ The lectures by museum organisers, agencies and universities will reference many projects and formats which have already been implemented in various museums and cultural institutions.
Numerous exhibitors from the museum and event technology sector will be presenting their latest technologies and services – including conceptualisation, scenography, air-conditioning and measurement systems as well as movable walls and lighting technology. On day two, trade visitors can take part in a guided tour which will take them directly to the stands of exhibitors and the appropriate contacts.
